N. D. Hansen-Hill cited an article by D. G. Dyne, which recounts mention of New Zealand by such well-known literary figures as Charles Dickens, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Robert Browning.

There was also a discussion of prologues and their uses, particularly as a hook to capture the reader's attention.
